FAQs

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions about the TEMPO toolkit.

Does it cost anything to use TEMPO?

The TEMPO toolkit is currently free to use for non-commercial purposes. You will need to register first though before downloading TEMPO.

How effective is the TEMPO for reducing procrastination?

Results from our beta testing indicate that TEMPO increases people’s understanding about procrastination as well as their knowledge about science-backed strategies for compassionately addressing procrastination. What’s more, after a month, people found that they procrastinated significantly less after using TEMPO. You can read more about the beta test results here.

I have ADHD. Will TEMPO work for me?

Yes. During the development of TEMPO we held focus groups with neurotypical and neurodivergent people. Their feedback informed how the material in TEMPO was presented to ensure that it was appropriate for those with ADHD.

IS TEMPO only for students?

No. TEMPO was designed to be used by anyone who struggles with procrastination.  It can be used across a variety of different tasks, not just academic tasks. Although we involved students in the development process, we also beta tested TEMPO with the wider population to ensure that it was suitable for broader use. You can read more about how TEMPO was developed here.

Is TEMPO an app?

No. TEMPO is an interactive pdf file that you can save and use offline on your own device. This means that all your responses to the interactive questions and exercises in TEMPO are completely private and not accessible by anyone else.

I know someone who also struggles with procrastination. Can I share a copy of the TEMPO pdf with them?

Because we are trying to keep track of how many people are using TEMPO, we prefer that people interested in TEMPO register on the TEMPO website and access the TEMPO pdf that way. This also gives them the opportunity to participate in our brief surveys and feedback about their experiences with TEMPO. So please do share the link to the TEMPO website.

Is TEMPO available in any other languages?

Currently TEMPO is only available in English. However, a Dutch version of TEMPO will be released later in 2026.
